Terms and Conditions

Deposits

Accommodation at Kooyong Retreat is reserved by prospective guests making a booking for a specified period and paying a deposit or by payment in full. In either case, provided the nominated period for staying at Kooyong Retreat is available, the booking is confirmed as soon as the payment is recorded through our electronic card system or your cheque is banked and credited as cleared funds to our account.

The minimum deposit is the equivalent in Australian Dollars of fifty percent of your total accommodation costs. See Refunds

Payment

Payments may be made by credit card (BankCard, VISA, MasterCard only); cheques are not accepted without prior arrangement. Please note that a booking cannot be confirmed until the funds are deposited to our account through electronic transfer or your cheque is cleared.

Payment in full for your accommodation is to be made no later than the date one week prior to the commencement of your stay. Non-payment at this time will result in the cancellation of your booking and forfeit of your deposit.

Refunds

If written notice of cancellation of your booking is received by us more than one month prior to the date booked for commencement of your stay, your deposit will be repaid to you. If written notice of cancellation is received by us inside this period your deposit will be forfeited. However, if we are able to re-book the accommodation for the full period of your cancelled booking, the amount of your deposit will be refunded to you.

If you do not arrive on the day your accommodation is booked to commence, all monies paid by you will be forfeited and retained by us. Any additional charges to bring the entire amount charged to the full cost of the accommodation booking will be due of you and, where applicable, your credit card may be debited by us for the amount of such additional charges due.

If, for any reason, you are late in arriving within the period you have booked, the full cost of the entire booked period is payable.

Authority to Debit

Please note that by providing your credit card details you are confirming your agreement to our Terms and Conditions and you are authorising Kooyong Retreat to charge your credit card for all cancellation and other costs as detailed in these Terms and Conditions.

Check-In & Check-Out

Check-in time is normally 2 pm on the commencement date of your booking though an earlier time may be arranged depending on the level of bookings at the time. Similarly check-out time is 11 am on the departure date of your booking with other times possible by mutual agreement.

Smoking

Smoking is not permitted inside Kooyong Retreat’s buildings.

Minimum Booking Periods

Minimum booking periods apply for long weekends, weekends and other special periods. An example is there is a minimum stay of 2 nights on a weekend, minimum of 3 nights on a long weekend.

Accidental Damage and Breakage

Accidents do happen and we are tolerant of accidental breakages (glassware, crockery etc). However, damage to furnishings and fittings is another matter and we reserve the right to charge guests with the costs of replacement, repair, cleaning or otherwise bringing furnishings and fittings back to their condition prior to damage, being the high standard we expect. It is a condition of occupancy of Kooyong Retreat that guests report any breakages and/or damages when you check out.

Please note that by providing your credit card details you are confirming your agreement to our Terms and Conditions and you are authorising Kooyong Retreat to charge your credit card for any costs of making good damage or breakage.
Bookings are accepted on the condition that guests leave the cottages in a reasonably clean condition. Kooyong Retreat reserves the right to charge your credit card for any costs of additional cleaning if required.

Children

Children under the age of 16 are not permitted at Kooyong Retreat as guests or visitors of guests.

Bed Linen and other Items

The Cottage comes fully equipped with normally expected bed linen, towels, soap etc.

Pets

Pets and animals of any description are not permitted anywhere at Kooyong Retreat.
